Beginner * Hockey *

From U.S. 101 in San Luis Obispo, take the Santa Rosa exit and turn west. Three blocks up, turn right at a short driveway entrance to small Santa Rosa Park, conveniently located just before the hospital. Park near the basketball court.

Tiny Santa Rosa Park is not exactly a destination skate, but its basketball court is the practice location used by the local roller hockey league. And when roller hockey is not in progress, beginning skaters come here to practice on the smooth concrete. Afterwards, hungry or thirsty folks can refresh themselves at one of the fast-food places on the way back toward the freeway.
