Directions
From State Highway 91 in Riverside, take the 14th Street exit east and follow it for one mile. After 14th becomes Martin Luther King Boulevard, it intersects with Kansas Avenue; there, you'll see the park just ahead on the right. Pull in and park in the lot.
Notes
Bordwell Park is by no means a destination skate, but for residents of this quiet neighborhood in Riverside, it offers excellent lawn-bordered sidewalks just right for learning how to skate. The low grassy hills are a good place for beginners to get the feel of managing speed and using their heel brakes. Watch out for slick sandy patches when skating near the kids' play area. Since the park is fairly new, the trees are still too small to offer much shade.
