Notes
Almost every city has at least one small park with decent pavement where beginners can go to learn how to skate. In San Bernardino, that park is the one that rings pretty Seccombe Lake, and it's also just about the only place you'll be allowed to skate in town. The paved downtown looks appealing by day, but after dark it's just as well you aren't welcome on your wheels, since the neighborhood becomes unsafe. A hint of this roughness is represented by the profusion of trash floating on the waters at Seccombe Lake's eastern edge. The park itself is well-shaded, with an ample supply of eight-foot-wide concrete sidewalks bordered by lawn. The stairs and other concrete near the YWCA at the park's southwest corner are fun for learning beginning street-skating skills.
