Notes
William Land Park is an oasis of shade in the Sacramento Valley, remaining relatively cool even as the rest of the valley bakes during the summer. The park covers several blocks, bordered by Freeport Boulevard, Sutterville Road, and Riverside Boulevard. While the streets winding through its grassy acres get a fair bit of automobile traffic, the wide concrete sidewalk next to South Land Park Drive is a fine spot for beginners. This stretch is quite flat, but probably no more than half a mile long. You can extend your rather limited tour of the park by exploring the streets and sidewalks of the attractive--and shady--neighborhood to the north.
